So you have an edge? Are you planning to take over the corporate world with your unique brand of finesse and charm? Well, we may just have a few idea’s to get you in with companies that are making waves, like cloud storage company, Dropbox.

Dropbox has cottoned on to the idea that the most unusual questions may just get you the best candidate for the job.

So why the need for the strange and unusual interview questions? Well let’s put it into perspective. Our current economic state may not be at its very best but at the same time there are thousands of graduates trying to stand out and be the one to get the job.

And whilst “Where do you see yourself in five years?” is not a bad question, wouldn’t you really want to know who your candidate is, what they want out of life and also who their favourite super-hero is? Personally, I’d want to work with a Superman fan, and if you prefer Batman, you’re dead to me.

So with that in mind, here are a few odd questions that you just might encounter, as well as our answer that could help you land the job!

Question 1:

If you had a super-power, what would it be and why?


Well, if I could choose any super power it would be the power to absorb and store all other power. This would then mean, that I could call it up at a moment’s notice to help me complete any task that you needed me to do!

Question 2:

What misconception do you think people have of you?


People often think that I’m reserved and quiet. I’m really not I just take to time to observe my surroundings, become acquainted with it and then adapt if need be.

Question 3:

What topic gets you geeky and excited and why?


This may not be the best answer, but I love Joss Whedon and pretty much everything he does- it’s bad, I can quote episodes!  Buffy the Vampire Slayer was an amazing show, not because of the monsters and aliens but because it was a show that dealt with people. It explored the choices they make and the consequences of those choices; and if there’s one thing that really fascinates me, it’s human interaction.

So what was the point of these answers? Very simply, you’re just telling a company the person you are and what makes you excited, you’re giving your interviewers a look into the person that you are. And that’s what they’re hiring. Make sure you aren’t just a robot with a degree –  be yourself, sell yourself and answer that strange question with an equally odd but interesting answer and be amazed at the results!
